First of all, A very Happy New Year!!!! Hope everyone enjoyed their New Years Eve! Mine was well...... different and I hope to never have one like it again. Ill back it up abit. Last weekend we had horrible winds here and many power outages, which I personally was apart of. The first evening wasnt bad plus we were told midnite the power would be restored. (Wrong!!!!) The temp wasnt too bad in the house so we took a few sets of pictures for my site. www.naughtyolivia.com (One set is already posted thanks to my awesome webmaster!) I was worried they wouldnt come out at all being the only light was the fireplace. Oh well it was fun anyways, if they dont come out. We took another set as well with just a flashlight. Im going to check those out here in a bit! Lets just say body heat is a true thing! It does keep one warm!!! Woke up next morning and hmmm no power. The newest reports Midnight tonight!!! By then It was about 38 degrees in the house with the fireplace going. I sent my daughter out to starbucks to pick up coffee to warm us up and then sent her off to her friends house, I had already sent my son off to a family members. Lets see, I was worried at one point the garage catching on fire. One of the lines caught some tree branches on fire which brought out the fire dept and ems and wow it was a circus. Once I was sure the house wasnt going to burn down I took my dogs to my inlaws to thaw out. The cat seemed fine then, I had left the fireplace on low (yes its a gas fireplace) and he was curled up on a blanket in front of it. Since the power was supposed to be back at midnite we came home at 10 and OMG it was so fucking cold!!!! As hubby had to work I have to do alot of this on my own and I must say Im getting good at survival I guess! I kept warm water trickling through the pipes so they wouldnt freeze and thought the Power will be on in 2 hours. All the animals curled up with me that night in front of the fire. Woke up at one point and my toes were numb, thawed those out and slept about an hour. I did a lot of reading by lantern. Read Jenna's book again. Thank goodness for her!! Of coarse the power was not on at midnite, yet again!!! oh I forgot to mention I just had to shower one morning. If i dont catch pnemonia from running around the house with wet hair (well i had it in a hat) Ill be surprised!!! What was funny was later on when i went back in the bathroom I had noticed all the drops of water on the tile were now ice!!!! Eventually the power was resotred on New Years Eve. That day I spent keeping the cat warm He wasnt doing so well. The one dog wasnt either. I was ready to take em all and stay at the inlaws then. But I was so scared of fires that I didnt want to leave the house! Well, I am happy to report all is well and my animals seem well too. Im keeping a close eye on the pomeranian though, he seems to have a little sneeze as I do as well. I guess toy dogs were not meant to handle the cold oh and the cat is finally purring again! I would much rather be with out power in the heat of summer and promise to never complain about that either the next time it happens. Id rather sweat to death than freeze to death!!! We always seem to have power outages around here. I told hubby he needs to get me a generator so I can have some conveniences. I guess you don't reallize how many conveniences we depend on until you have nothing at all!!!! Well Now that I have bored you to death!! Have a great weekend!!!! Oh I almost forgot!!!! My 9 p.m. cam shows are back on Friday Nights (yes tonight) Remember members can see my hour cam shows for free!!!!! Take care Love, Olivia |
